My Story

About the Owner Kim DePaolo

My family loves charcuterie. Or, as we Italians prefer to call it Salumi, which comes from the Italian word Salume (salted meats).

My husband Dana and I both grew up spending Sunday afternoons at our grandparents, where Salumi was always set on the table before dinner to “pick” on.

We never knew there were fancy names for this plate/tray of meats, cheeses, fruits, and nuts.  It was simply called the meat tray.  It was the much anticipated first course of our day long eating routine on Sundays.

As adults, Dana and I have carried on the tradition of always having a Charcuterie at the ready.  We do a lot of entertaining and the “boards” have become a passion of mine.  We spend hours “picking” at our boards while talking and having cocktails with friends and family.

You’ve come to the right place for delicious Charcuterie at the Pittsburgh Charcuterie Company. We look forward to serving you soon!
